PATNA: She has retired in 2007. Yet, her popularity has not diminished at all. This was evident from the thunderous welcome given to her by a motley crowd of people, comprising mostly students of the Arcade Business College at the Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir here on Monday.
The 1994 Ramon Magsaysay Award winner, Kiran Bedi, gave a clarion call to the Bihar youth by saying that if Bihar and Uttar Pradesh the bulk of India improve in terms of character building and value-added education, the day is not far off when India hits the road to prosperity.

Giving the mantra of neev ninety building 90 per cent of the self, one's lifeline, the 10 per cent Bihari youth can definitely correct the errors of the foundation of their lives and build their future on that.
Telling them that the secret of climbing the ladder of success, and more importantly, staying on top lies on character, integrity and virtues like atmachintan', setting small targets and making it a habit to achieve them, time management, respect for teachers and parents and commitment to studies.
Teaching them the art of parivartan', the country's first woman IPS officer told the youth to close their eyes for two minutes and regress 10-20 years back as to whether they had any regret for their actions, including lies, and pledge to remove those in the days to come. This, she said, was an exercise to correct the basic errors of one's foundation, the neev'.
The former IG (prisons), Delhi, managing the 10,000 riotous inmates of Tihar jail from 1993-1995, did not shy away from saying that if the formula of Neev ninety is rigorously practised in India, people will stop asking for favours, including jobs and promotion.
